Ieri sera cena da Alexis, nel centro commerciale Great Eastern Mall. Il venerdì sera ci sono sempre gruppi jazz locali ed internazionali che si esibiscono dal vivo, e ci abbiamo fatto un salto. Ieri sera suonavano i Grùv Avenue, un buon gruppo devo dire, noti a livello internazionale, hanno anche inciso un disco. La cena è stata buona: involtini di scampi per antipasto, agnello per me e pollo arrosto per Nina; i componenti della band gironzolavano preparandosi, ed io ad un certo punto sono andato in bagno a lavarmi le mani unte di pollo. All’uscita sono stato bloccato da una troupe televisiva che intervistava i musicisti lungo o stretto corridoio, così mi sono goduto lo spettacolo dietro la telecamera. Verso le 10:30 lo show è iniziato. Ci siamo spostati di posto all’inizio dello spettacolo, perché eravamo proprio davanti a loro e ci avrebbero assordato, così ci siamo defilati. Nina aveva mal di testa, e dopo pochi brani ci siamo spostati ancora, verso i divanetti in fondo al locale, dove si riusciva anche a parlare. Dopo un paio d’ore siamo tornati a casa, stanchi, e fine venerdì.
Yesterday night we had dinner at Alexis, in Great Eastern Mall. Friday night there’s always a jazz band, local or international, playing live sessions, so we passed by. Yesterday night Grùv Avenue were on stage, a good band I have to say, known locally and internationally, they also produced a CD. Dinner was good, prawn springrolls for starter, then lamb for me and roast chicken for Nina; the players were going around, preparing for the show, and I went to the toilet to wash my hands dirty of chicken. When I exited the toilet I found myself stuck in the small corridor, because a TV troupe was interviewing the group, so I enjoyed it from the backstage. The show started at 10:30. We moved from our table because we were too close and we would get deaf soon. Nina also had a headache, so after few tracks we moved farther, to the sofas at the end of the corridor, where we could even talk. After a couple of hours we went home, tired, end of Friday.
