Venerdì sera siamo stati invitati a cena da Yang (una collega di Nina) e suo marito, e ci hanno portati in un ristorante malese chiamato Tupai Tupai, che significa Scoiattolo Scoiattolo, visto che al momento della costruzione il posto era popolato da molti scoiattoli. Abbiamo mangiato per terra, seduti su dei cuscini attorno ad un tavolo basso, anche se la tradizione malese prevede che invece del tavolo i piatti siano serviti su un tappeto. Non ricordo bene cosa abbiamo mangiato, comunque tanto.

Dopo cena abbiamo accompagnato a casa la Signora Myrna e Anabella, poi Yang ci ha portati ancora all’Hard Rock Cafe, dove c’erano dei loro amici che non vedevo dal Marzo scorso. Questa volta la serata è stata un bidone totale, non mi dilungo sui motivi ma comunque sono stato contento di tornare a casa a dormire (fino alle 3:30 del sabato pomeriggio…). Poi ieri sera ho portato Nina a mangiare in un ristorante libanese, ma penso che la cucina araba sinceramente possa dare di più di quello che abbiamo provato ieri sera.

Oggi relax, e per non correre rischi per cena, pasta e fagioli.

Last Friday night we’ve been invited for dinner by Yang (Nina’s colleague) and her husband, and they took us to a Malay restaurant called Tupai Tupai, meaning Squirrel Squirrel, since when the place was built there were lots of these animals. We ate on the floor, sitting on cushions around a small table, even if the Malay traditions foresees a bare carpet instead of the table. I don’t remember what we ate, a lot anyway.

After dinner we took home Mrs Myrna and Anabella, the Yang took us to the Hard Rock Café again, where some of her friends who we didn’t’ see since last March were there already. This time the night was awful, I don’t spend time explaining why but I was happy to go home and sleep (until 3:30 PM Saturday…). Then yesterday eve I took Nina out for dinner to a Lebanese restaurant, but I sincerely think that the Arabian cuisine has more to offer us than what we tried yesterday.

Today relax, and to avoid any risks for dinner, pasta with beans.
