E così sono a casa da solo ancora una volta. Mi sembra di esserci abituato ormai, mi preparo sempre per la routine da solitario: abbuffate di film, Messenger, patatine e schifezze varie… Però ogni volta che i trovo da solo, anche se so cosa mi aspetta, l’appartamento diventa così grande, il silenzio così assordante, sento veramente che mi manca qualcosa (qualcuno…).

Comunque tutto sta filando liscio anche stavolta, e la settimana passerà in fretta. Di solito quando resto a casa da solo perdo sempre un po’ di peso, perché mi capita di non mangiare con regolarità, e penso che essere stato a casa da solo tre o quattro volte abbia contribuito a far sì che durante questi mesi in Malesia abbia perso circa sette chili.

E come sempre, quando non ho con me la macchina fotografica, mi imbatto nelle cose più curiose: sabato sera scorso eravamo fuori alla stazione del treno, ed era pieno di grosse farfalle notturne, che sembrava stessero cacciando degli insetti somiglianti a grosse formiche. A loro volta le farfalle venivano cacciate dai geki, ne avrò visti una quindicina almeno, che andavano in giro sul pavimento e sui muri con queste farfalle in bocca. Abbiamo visto anche un altro tipo di lucertola, che somigliava molto ad un piccolo iguana. Una scena veramente curiosa, spero di rivederla con la macchina fotografica in mano.

And so I’m home alone once again. I feel like I’m getting used to it, I always prepare for the solitaire routine: plenty of movies, Messenger, chips and junk food… But every time I am alone, even if I know what is expecting me, the flat becomes so big, the silence so noisy, I really feel something (someone…) is missing.

Anyway also this time everything is going ok, and the week will end soon. Usually when I’m home alone I lose some weight, because I don’t eat regularly, and I think that having been alone for some times so far contributed to my 7 kilos loss in these months in Malaysia.

And as usual, when I don’t have my camera with me, I see the most curious things: last Saturday night we were outside the train station, and it was full of big night butterflies, which seemed to be hunting some insects similar to big ants. The butterflies themselves were being hunted by gecks, I saw at least fifteen of them, going around the floor and the walls carrying butterflies in their mouths. We also saw another kind of lizard, much alike an iguana. A really curious scene, I hope to see it again with my camera in my hands.
