Avete presente il bel tramonto di ieri? Beh, scordatevelo, perché nelle ultime 24 ore, senza una goccia di pioggia, la foschia è tornata a farla da padrona, ed il risultato lo potete vedere nella foto: un bel tramonto senza colori, addirittura senza Twin Towers…

Andando in giro è possibile sentire il sapore dell’aria, che sa un po’ di fumo, e sta mietendo innumerevoli vittime per quanto riguarda mal di gola e raffreddori.

A malincuore dobbiamo cenare dentro, senza lume di candela e panorama, sperando che domani vada meglio.

Do you remember the beautiful sunset yesterday? Well, forget it, because in the last 24 hours, without a single rain drop, the haze has come back to rule, and the result is what you see in the picture: a nice sunset without colours, even without Twin Towers…

Going around it is possible to taste the air, which is a little smoke flavoured, and that is causing throat aches and colds to a lot of people.

Unwillingly we have to have dinner inside, with no candle light and no sight, hoping that tomorrow it will be better.

Visto che è Ramadan, ci sono molti negozi che fanno i saldi. Uno di questi è Tomei, una gioielleria, che vende moltissimi aggeggi graziosi. Ho chiesto a mia mamma se le piacerebbe ricevere qualcosa, tipo un paio di orecchini, e in risposta ho ricevuto un SMS da mio fratello che diceva:

“Mamma dice, compra dei diamanti, scacciano gli spiriti maligni”.

Ho pensato, Oh oh! Che tipo di spiriti maligni nobili che sono, se hanno bisogno dei diamanti per essere scacciati?!

La mia amica Johanna invece mi ha suggerito di prendere degli specchi invece. Penso che sia un’alternativa migliore (e più abbordabile)!

Since it is Ramadan, there are a lot of shop sales coming out. One of this was Tomei, the jewelry shop, which sells a lot of pretty trinkets. I asked my mother if she would care to have something, a pair of earrings perhaps, and what I got was an SMS from my brother that says:

“Ma says, get some diamonds, to drive away  evil spirits”.

I thought, Uh oh! What kind of sosi (royal) evil spirits are these, that they need diamonds to be driven away?!

My friend Johanna suggested, I get mirrors instead. Umm, I think that’s the better (and definitely affordable) alternative!
