Sul giornale se ne leggono di strane veramente: è di qualche giorno fa la notizia che molti insegnanti, scontenti del loro stipendio (circa 2800 RM, più che sufficienti per vivere decentemente), hanno iniziato ad insegnare male ai bambini, così questi ultimi hanno bisogno di frequentare lezioni private, tenute dagli insegnanti stessi, che arrivano così ad incassare anche 10000 RM al mese non tassati. Un’insegnante addirittura si è comprata una casa da un milione e mezzo di Ringgit, pagata cash al momento…

Un’altra notizia piuttosto drammatica: il 3 settembre scorso due ragazzini sono stati attaccati da un coccodrillo a Kuching, mentre cercavano di catturare dei granchi, ed uno di loro è morto. Da allora lungo il fiume ci sono delle esche avvelenate per catturare il killer. Oggi hanno trovato un coccodrillo morto che galleggiava in zona, ma misurava “solo due metri”, quindi non era sufficientemente grande, inoltre non c’erano resti umani nel suo stomaco. La ricerca continua.

Infine, stasera ero in ascensore e stavo andando su in casa, e dentro c’era un signore anziano, una donna, una bella ragazza con degli occhiali da sole enormi ed un ragazzo piuttosto giovane, questi ultimi due con dei bagagli. Il signore anziano ha chiesto alla ragazza: “Travelling?” e lei “No, shooting”. Io subito ho pensato: “ Ma a chi spara questa?”, ma dopo un momento ci sono arrivato che voleva dire filmare… “Sono un’attrice” ha detto lei, tutta gonfiando il petto (ha detto anche il suo nome, un paio di titoli, che nessuno ha mai sentito). Il signore le ha detto: “Scusa sai, ma non ti conosco”: AH! AH! AH!, che figura da superstar… Poi uscendo lui le ha detto che cercherà di vederla alla TV e lei gli ha risposto: “Mi può vedere ogni sabato e domenica sul primo canale!”. Così impara a tirarsela e tenersi gli occhiali scuri in ascensore, tsk…

On the newspaper you can read very strange news, really: it’s few days old the news that many teachers, unhappy of their salary (around 2800 RM, more than enough for a decent life), started to teach bad to the kids, so that they need private lessons, held by the teachers themselves, who can get to earn up to 10000 RM per month, no tax. A teacher also bought a 1.5 millions house, paid cash at the moment…

Another news, quite dramatic: last September 3^rd two teenagers were attacked by a crocodile in Kuching, while they were hunting crabs, and one of them died. Since then there are poisoned baits along the river, to capture the killer. Today they found a dead croc floating in the zone, but it was “only” 2 meters long, then it was not big enough, and there were only chicken pieces in its stomach. The hunt goes on.

Finally, this evening I was in the elevator going home, and there were an old man, a woman, a young pretty girl and a kid, these last two with baggage. The old man asked her: “Travelling?” and she replied “No, shooting”. I immediately thought: “Who’s she gonna kill?”, but I realized that she meant acting… “I am an actress” she said, standing tall (she also said her name and a couple of  movie titles, that nobody ever heard). The man told her “I am sorry, but I don’t know you”: AH! AH! AH!, what a superstar impression… Then going out the lift he told her he will look for her in the TV, and she answered him “You can see me every Saturday and Sunday night in the first channel!”. So she will learn not to be so full of ego and not to keep her dark glasses in the lift, tsk…
