Ieri Nina è andata a vedere se è tornato il calzolaio, ma ovviamente non c’era, ha trovato solo un altro membro della “dirigenza”, che le ha detto che il “general manager” torna lunedì. Sicuramente starete pensando che questa non è una notizia clamorosa, e non posso darvi torto.

Invece purtroppo ho letto ieri di un suicidio in India che ha dell’incredibile, non so se la notizia è arrivata anche in Italia: un uomo stava protestando a solo davanti ala fabbrica dove lavorava, che quel giorno era chiusa per ferie, perché non riceveva lo stipendio. Nessuno gli prestava attenzione, tranne una troupe televisiva che lo ha consigliato di rendere più incisiva la sua protesta: gli hanno dato nafta e fiammiferi e l’hanno convinto a darsi fuoco, dopodichè sono rimasti a riprenderlo fino all’arrivo dei soccorsi. Il poveretto ha riportato ustioni gran parte del corpo (qualcuno dice 90%, altri 60%), ed è morto poco dopo l’arrivo in ospedale. Ora i giornalisti sono sotto indagine.

Instead sadly I read yesterday about a suicide in India which is something unbelievable, I don’t know if you heard about it: a man was protesting outside the factory where he works, that was closed for holiday, because he was not receiving his salary. No one was paying attention to him, except for a television troupe which members suggested him to render his protest more incisive: they gave him gasoline (or whatever) and matches and they convinced him to burn himself, then they staid there reporting the news until the ambulance arrived. The poor man got most of his body scalded (someone says 90%, others 60%), and died shortly after he arrived to the hospital. Now the journalists are under investigation.
