Di solito viaggiare in treno è piuttosto agevole e come potete vedere riposante, infatti è molto comune vedere gente che dorme, anche in piedi! Invece ieri sera stavo andando al cinema a KLCC, e durante il tragitto il treno si è fermato quattro volte fuori stazione.

Una volta giunto alla stazione ho notato che la coda per il treno di ritorno era lunga oltremisura, e addirittura fuori l’accesso alla stazione era chiuso e ciononostante centinaia di persone stavano aspettando di obliterare i biglietti (foto in basso).

Per raggiungere Nina ho dovuto fare il giro da fuori, e ci siamo messi ad aspettare Analyn, che tornava dal suo primo giorno di lavoro: è arrivata con due ore di ritardo perché i treni erano completamente fuori uso, ed il suo si è fermato in galleria. Appena raggiunta la fermata più vicina ha preso un taxi, non senza difficoltà, visto che il sistema ferroviario era in tilt. Comunque alla fine ci ha raggiunto e la serata è proseguita normalmente.

Oggi il giornale riportava l’accaduto, dicendo che tutto è nato da una disfunzione del computer che non permetteva di gestire i treni, provocando l’ammassamento di trenta mezzi compresi in sole sette fermate, tra l’altro tutte sotterranee. La gente ha aperto le porte dei treni, perché tutti erano senza elettricità (e quindi senza aria condizionata e luce), alcuni sono scesi e si sono incamminati lungo la galleria, altri si sono sentiti male. Questo ha provocato un rallentamento nelle riparazioni, che dopo più di quattro ore sono terminate.

La rivoluzione delle macchine è prossima…

Usually travelling by train is quite easy and as you can see is also resting, in fact it is very common meet people sleeping, even if they are not sitting anywhere! Instead yesterday I was going to KLCC for the cinema, and during the ride the train stopped four times between stations.

Once I arrived at the station, I noticed that the cue for the train to the opposite direction was oversize, and outside the entrance to the station was closed and despite that hundreds of people were waiting for a ride (pic below).

To reach Nina I had to pass by outside, and we kept waiting for Analyn, who was coming back from her first day at work: she was two hours late ‘cause the trains were out of work, and hers stopped in a tunnel. As soon as she reached a station she looked for a cab, but it was hard, since the train system was out. Anyway in the end she joined us and the eve continued normally.

Today the news paper was telling about what happened, saying that everything started from a computer glitch which did not allow for train management, provoking the bulking of thirty trains in a range of seven stations, almost all underground. People opened the doors, because the trains were without electricity (so no aircon and light), so someone went out and started to walk along the tunnel, others fainted. This provoked a lowering of the reparation, that after four hours ended.
